students in the FSDB arts department gathered in front of the Times Union Center

On February 9, the BHS and select BMS Theatre, Classical Literature, Thespian Society, and other multi-music students enjoyed a night out at the Times Union Center for the Performing Arts – Moran Theater to enjoy the musical Hadestown. The students and 5 BHS Chaperones arrived at the theater around 6:45 pm, took group photos near the waterside overlook, and found their seats in the Loge section. Students were allowed to choose concessions items at the show's beginning or during the 20-minute intermission. The 2-hour-32-minute sung-through musical tells the Greek Mythological story of Orpheus and Eurydice, interwoven with the story of Hades and Persephone.

The New Jazz Jazz-influenced music also includes narration by Hermes and interjections by The 3 Fates. It's a sad song, but the students and staff thoroughly enjoyed the audio-described performance. Special thanks to the FSCJ Artist Series for their assistance with setting up and helping with the audio description app AudioFetch and for all of the assistance and direction at the theater! The night was fun, festive, and full of incredible music, and the students all had a fantastic time!
