INSITE Trainings
INSITE training is a six-day program conducted over two weekends. It provides home-based support and resources for families with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, ages birth to age five, who have sensory impairments and additional disabilities (MDSI).

About the Course
This course is available to early interventionists with a Bachelor’s degree in Varying Exceptionalities, Vision, Special Education, Early Childhood, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language, Deaf Education or in a related field of study.
Topics Covered
WORKING WITH FAMILIES – Partnership, grief, communication, family dynamics, family needs, culture, teaming, eco maps, family-focused interview.
DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING – Etiology understanding audiograms, hearing aids,
cochlear implants, auditory development, communication interaction, and language methodologies.
BASIC COMMUNICATION AND COGNITION – Cues, signals, informal and formal.
MOTOR DEVELOPMENT – Gross and fine motor, feeding positioning, self-help, understanding types of cerebral palsy.
BLIND & VISION IMPAIRMENTS – Etiology, understanding medical eye reports, adapting for an optimizing vision environments, functions vision assessment.
APPLICATION OF THE MODEL – Getting around in the natural environment, assessment, working with a family writing outcomes, assessment and evaluation. IFSP development, transition to center-based
programs.
Registration
Deadline with Payment: Must be received by September 22, 2025.
Cost: The fee for INSITE training is $300.00. This covers all handouts and training materials (except manuals). Please make checks or POs payable to FSDB. Participants are also required to have the INSITE Curriculum Manual, which can be ordered through HOPE Publications, Inc. 435-245-2888 or www.hopepubl.com. The cost is $100.00 per manual set (2 volumes) plus 10% shipping and handling.
